KANUNGU, UGANDA – The Zuri Project is thrilled to formally announce a new strategic partnership with AceOn Group, a leader in battery technology and solar energy solutions. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to support sustainable development in the Kanungu District, combining AceOn’s technical expertise with Zuri’s deep-rooted community ties.
A Shared Vision for Sustainability
The bond between our two organisations is built on more than just professional alignment; it is rooted in personal commitment and shared leadership. Greig Young, a long-standing Trustee of The Zuri Project, also serves as the Chairman of AceOn Group. This dual role has allowed for a natural partnership to develop, ensuring that both organisations are pulling in the same direction to create lasting impact.
Further strengthening this connection is Alex Thompson, a Director at AceOn and a valued member of the Zuri Project Board of Trustees. Alex’s dedication to our cause is firsthand, having spent significant time on the ground in Uganda. During a recent visit, Alex personally oversaw the launch of a transformative solar project at Kishunju Nursery and Primary School, providing students and teachers alike with reliable light and power.
Building a Brighter Future
The scope of this partnership is designed to be both ambitious and enduring. Primarily, the collaboration will focus on securing vital funding for Zuri’s ongoing social and educational initiatives across the Kanungu District. By leveraging AceOn’s network and corporate social responsibility (CSR) expertise, we aim to ensure the longevity of our community programs.
Looking ahead, the partnership will also serve as a launchpad for renewable energy projects. Over the coming years, Zuri and AceOn will work alongside our local partners in Uganda to identify and deliver green energy solutions. These projects will focus on:
Energy Security: Providing schools and clinics with consistent power.
Environmental Impact: Reducing reliance on fossil fuels through solar innovation.
Capacity Building: Training local teams to manage and maintain renewable infrastructure.
A Word from The Zuri Project
"We are incredibly excited to formalise our relationship with AceOn Group," says Ross Young, chairman of the Board of Trustees. "Having Alex and Greig bridge the gap between our two worlds ensures that this partnership is fuelled by genuine passion for the people of Kanungu. The success at Kishunju School is just the beginning of what we can achieve together."
As we move forward, this partnership represents a win-win for innovation and humanitarian aid, and we’re excited about what we can achieve together.
