Our
Projects
Since launching the Zuri Project in 2015, we have fundraised for three main project sites: Kihembe Community Vocational Secondary School, Kihembe Health Centre II, and Kishunju Nursery & Primary School.
Learn more about our work at these sites on this page, or visit our blog for project updates.

Kihembe Community Vocational Secondary School
We're immensely proud to have built the first secondary school in Kihembe Sub-County. This project was a collaboration between the Church of Uganda, the local government, and the Zuri Project Uganda. We fundraised for the entire project and built two classroom blocks, an administration block, a kitchen, and a brand-new science laboratory and library.

Over 120 students now attend KVSS and it's our flagship project. We're confident that, in the coming years, the government will over the running of the school, taking it from a private to a government-aided institution.

Kihembe Health Centre II
We've worked for years supporting Kihembe Health Centre II. We've built a new, solar-powered staff quarters to house doctors, nurses, and support staff. In collaboration with the Church of Uganda, we were also delighted to contribute funding for the complete renovation of the facility and for the building of a maternity ward on site.

Like at the secondary school site, we have big future plans for the health centre and hope that with more government support, the site will continue delivering excellent point-of-service care to people in Kihembe.

Kishunju Nursery & Primary School
Kishunju is where the Zuri Project began, and we've been supporting projects at this village primary school for more than a decade. We've built six new classrooms at Kishunju over the years and a kitchen block. We've also purchased scholastic materials, helped with teacher training and provided agricultural and sporting projects.
We hope to completely renovate the old classroom block at Kishunju in the coming years if we get the funding to carry out the work.
